Chanel + St. Tropez = love
Friday, May 14th 2010
Yesterday was the Chanel cruise collection was shown in beautiful St. Tropez. The setting was perfect - right along the Riviera during sunset in a cafe with red directors chairs for all to sit in. A packed house - all in anticipation waiting to see what the legendary house had created for all of them.
Inspired by the Riviera's casualness and freedom, Lagerfield had a noticeably relaxed feel to the collection that seemed to borrow from elements of the sixties. Delish.
The colours were dominated by many blues, yellows, pinks and whites. Perfect for the summer time and Caribbean getaways.
The collection was breathtaking and wonderfully versatile - each piece can be worn for numerous occasion's whether for day or evening. Each piece was elegant and feminine. Karl had even taken the signature Chanel tweed and made it more wearable for summer in fun vests and trousers.
The swimwear was also quite youthful and fresh - one piece in particular was reminisent of brigitte bardot - it was a favorite of the swimwear pieces for me!
