Style tips for mom's on the go!
Sunday, August 1st 2010
It is no secret that mom’s are busy women! They wear so many different ‘hats’ during the day to satisfy the many roles they play as wife, sister, mother, daughter, business woman, niece, neighbour, and the list goes on.
Women I work with all ask me the same thing, “How can I look and feel stylish when I’m always juggling so many different things?”
Many mom’s feel there isn’t a way, thus the look of sweatpants, uggs, exercise attire and other comfy pieces run rampant while they do they’re day to day tasks. The problem is, it leaves most women feeling like they’ve let themselves go.
Those days are gone! Here are a few stylish and comfortable basics every woman should have in her wardrobe that will not only give her versatility in her closet, but give her the style and comfort she’s looking for:
1. A fabulous pair of jeans - preferably dark washes as they can transition easily from casual to dressy. Try Yoga jeans – they have the chic appeal of denim but the comfort of the yoga pant.
- A trench coat in a vibrant splash of colour - this way you'll have a classic piece with an added edge for years to come!
- Great pair of flats and pumps that will cushion your feet while making you look chic no matter what. I highly recommend Cole Haan shoes as their shoes for women have Nike Air's in them! Kiss the ugly, frumpy Uggs goodbye!
- A fabulous blazer is essential! It's an easy thing to toss over a camisole or t-shirt and instantly pump up your wardrobe.
- T-shirts and camisoles in an array of colours is a necessity - as you can dress up or down either items with jeans, slacks or skirts - and of course, the right accessories. Banana Republic can be a great resource for this in a nice quality.
- Statement jewellery is a MUST for every wardrobe. Get a few really fun, bold pieces of jewellery in metallics and gems. By doing this, the pieces will be more versatile with all of your outfits and can instantly give your outfits that extra pop! But beware: only 2 statement pieces at a time. Don’t overdo it.
- Leggings or Jeggings – they are so versatile and comfortable! Dress them up or down with tunics, t-shirts, and blazers and fun jewellery.
Style can be comfortable and still reflect who you are. Playing with some of these basics will certainly have you on your way!
I welcome any questions you have for me!
